Pastoral Transition Update
District Superintendent Mark Lehman and the PazNaz board of directors are pleased to announce that Pastor Aaron Gregory has accepted the call to be the next pastor of First Church of the Nazarene of Pasadena. He will be installed as pastor of PazNaz on Sunday, February 8, 2026. Please continue to pray for Pastor Aaron, his family, PazNaz, and his current church, Connection Point Church, during this time of transition.

Margaret Street Birthday Celebration
Longtime member of PazNaz, Margaret Street, turned 101 years old on Thursday, January 1. In honor of this momentous milestone, there will be a party on the patio today after the 9:30 am service. Everyone is invited.

Widowers’ Gathering
The Widowers’ Group meets the first Saturday of each month at Mimi’s Bistro, 500 W Huntington Drive, Monrovia at 5:00 pm. Join us on January 3, 2026 for food, fun, fellowship, and mutual support. Save February 7, March 7, and April 4 for future gatherings.

Prescott­–Ragains Mission Chapter
The Prescott–Ragains Missionary Chapter will meet at 11:30 am on Thursday, January 8, in Gilmore Hall, South. Lunch will be provided for $5.00. Anyone interested in learning about the missions work PazNaz supports is welcome to attend. If you plan to join us, please RSVP to Loyal and Margie Ingersoll at 626.286.7982 so that enough food can be prepared for this event.

PrimeTime Annual Kickoff
PrimeTime Ministries will host their annual kickoff on Sunday, January 11, noon - 1:00 pm, in Gilmore Hall following Sunday School. The 2026 events will be announced including outings, a long excursion, activities, and special dinners, and advance sign-ups will be available. Pie and coffee will be served

Women in the Word
Please join Women In The Word for The Way of Wisdom, exploring the book of Proverbs, with six teachers who examine wisdom principles for relationships, work, parenting, and spiritual growth through God's Word. This study meets on Tuesdays at 9:30 am in Gilmore Hall beginning January 27. Childcare and Zoom options are available. Church in the Park Coat Drive
Church in the Park is asking for donations of winter coats and outerwear in adult sizes for the unhoused population of Pasadena. Donations can be brought to the Welcome Center on Sunday mornings or to the church office during the week.

Common Table

January 7 menu: chicken pot pie, salad, and dessert

Dinner will be served 5:00-6:15 pm. The cost is $5 per person if reserved by noon on Wednesday, and $7 per person if reserved after noon on Wednesday or at the door. Any first-time guest who does not currently attend PazNaz and makes a reservation by noon on Wednesday can enjoy their dinner for free. Reservations can be made in the Welcome Center on Sunday mornings between Worship and Sunday School or by calling the church office during the week at 626.351.9631.

We will study the stories of Genesis: the Garden, Flood, Murder, Tower of Babel, and the Call of Abraham and his family. These foundational narratives reveal how God worked once and continues working today.

Grief Support Group

Women’s Wednesday Experience: None Like Him: 10 Ways God Is Different from Us (and Why That's a Good Thing) by Jen Wilkin
Led by Kimberly Marsh and Marlene Moncada | Gilmore Hall, South
This book will lead us on a journey to discover ten ways God is different from us. It will call us to embrace our limits as a means of glorifying God's limitless power and invites us to celebrate the freedom that comes when we rest in letting God be God.

Church in the Park - Volunteers are needed to help the Church In The Park ministry team with food preparation, distribution, and clean-up. People of all ages are welcome to get involved. To get connected with this ministry please contact Godwin Shen (godwinsh@gmail.com) or Vanessa Hadikusumah (gpiggy@gmail.com).

Communion Stewards - Please consider joining the team of communion stewards who help prepare the elements for communion on the first Sunday of every month. For more information or to volunteer, contact Melody Bundy at mbundy@paznaz.org or 626.351.2425.

Handy Help – If you enjoy wielding a paintbrush, drill, or hammer, please consider joining the “Toolbox Tuesday Crew” to help with minor maintenance and repair tasks around the PazNaz campus on the first and third Tuesday of each month. Please contact Chenani Moncayo at cmoncayo@paznaz.org or 626.351.2414 to learn how you can put your ingenuity to work for PazNaz.

Helping Hands - Join the helping hands team on Tuesdays and/or Wednesdays. The Tuesday team prepares donations for distribution by the Wednesday team. To sign up or more information, please contact Jim Yang at jwyang57@gmail.com
