PazNaz Village volunteers will be on hand to help unload donations. Please place donations in trash bags for easy handling. On Tuesday, December 9, 1:30 - 3:30 pm, everyone is invited to gather in Reed Hall 246, to watch sermons previously preached by the new pastoral candidate. Board member Bob Hoyt will be there to answer questions. Contact Pastor Darwin Ng at dng@paznaz.org or 626.351.2461 if you have any questions.
Christmas Caroling
You are invited to share Christmas joy by singing Christmas carols for the children of Sunrise Preschool on Wednesday, December 10, at 9:30 am. Come dressed in your most festive Christmas attire and gather in the office. For questions, please contact pastor Darwin Ng at dng@paznaz.org or 626.351.2461.
Meet & Greet with the Pastoral Candidate
On Sunday, December 14, there will be an opportunity to meet Rev. Aaron Gregory, the pastoral candidate, and his family beginning at 11:00 am in Gilmore Hall. He will have an opportunity to speak briefly about his life and ministry. If you have a question for Rev. Gregory, please write it on one of the 3”x5” cards available in the Sanctuary Foyer. Question cards may be returned to one of the specially-marked baskets in the Sanctuary Foyer today or next Sunday. This will allow board members to prioritize the most common questions during the Q&A.
Pastoral Candidate Election
Following the Meet and Greet on Sunday, December 14, all members of PazNaz age 15 and above are encouraged to vote on whether or not Rev. Aaron Gregory should be called to serve as PazNaz’s next Senior Pastor. Voting will remain open until 1:00 pm to give everyone a chance to cast a ballot. In accordance with the Manual of the Church of the Nazarene, all voting must take place in person.
Church in the Park Coat Drive
Church in the Park is asking for donations of winter coats and outerwear in adult sizes for the unhoused population of Pasadena. Donations can be brought to the Welcome Center on Sunday mornings or to the church office during the week.
Christmas Love Offering
Through the end of 2025, a special love offering will be received for the support, custodial, director level, and pastoral church staff. Please mark your contribution as “Staff Christmas.” Thank you for your generosity.
The Christmas Experience Concert
Saturday, December 13, at 6:00 pm in the Sanctuary
PazNaz hosts Victory Bible Church for a premier holiday concert featuring a 100-voice choir, live orchestra, and guest artists to unite Pasadena for a night of music and hope. Tickets start at $50 and can be purchased at Paz.nz/tce. Proceeds from ticket sales will help victims of January’s Eaton Fire.
Blue Christmas
Wednesday, December 17, at 6:30 pm in Lee Chapel.
Not everyone is cheery for the Christmas holidays. Dealing with the death of a loved one, facing life after divorce or separation, coping with the loss of a job, living with cancer or some other disease that puts a question mark over the future, and a number of other human situations make parties and joviality painful for many people. Join PazNaz for this reflective service, accepting where we really are, while holding out for healing and hope.
Gallery Doxa
The second part of PazNaz’s art show is on display through Sunday, December 28. Each of the pieces of art displayed in the Sanctuary Foyer reflects this year’s Gallery Doxa theme: Bathed in the Same Light. Take some time this advent season to let this art inspire and challenge you to consider what it means for everyone to be bathed in the light of God’s love.
Family Christmas Worship
Sunday, December 21, at 9:30 am, in the Sanctuary
There will be a special performance by the children’s choir during the English morning worship service. Following their performance, children will return to Lower Sanctuary 102 for a special Christmas celebration.
Christmas Eve
Wednesday, December 24, at 5:30 pm, in the Sanctuary
As we gather, we remember the Christmas story through singing carols together, hearing scripture, a special children’s story time, and being invited into new and ancient ways the good news of Jesus birth can bring healing and hope to our community.
